Summer Concert

The Abbey College Flute Group have just won the Rotary Club District 1070 Young Musician trophy for best group. Their conductor is Kate Hamilton.

Louise
Birt has taken the leading role in many productions including The
Magic Flute, Hansel & Gretel, Pirates of Penzance,
The Mikado, Showboat and South Pacific. She has
also been the soloist in various concerts. Louise is a Cheshire girl by
birth and relocated to the Ramsey area in 2002.
The
Alan Norris Big Band was formed eleven years ago and is
now the leading amateur big band in the area. They have performed with Don
Lusher (trombonist with the Ted Heath Band) and Tommy Whittle (saxophonist
from the Stan Kenton Band). The band comprises eighteen musicians, plus
male and female singers, and play traditional big band music from the likes
of Glenn Miller, Ted Heath, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Buddy Rich.
